The popular ‘In the House’ Cult Film series returns to Event Cinemas Myer Centre on Friday February 3rd, with the launch of ‘Season 0.1’.  The new season lovingly brings an eclectic line-up of cult classics back to the big screen, bringing with it an opportunity to introduce these titles to a whole new generation and for dedicated fans to relive their glory.

To kick off the season is the 1986 John Hughes classic, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.  Other landmark, must-see 80’s films that will feature during the season are Stand By Me and E.T- The Extra Terrestrial

This season also delves into the sci-fi genre, with TWO highly anticipated Double feature screenings of films that have truly earned their cult film status. On February 17th, witness the terrifying 1986 film, The Fly, starring Jeff Goldblum and directed by master film maker, David Cronenberg, followed by Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman in the 1997 sci-fi thriller, Gattaca.  The second double feature of the season screens on April 28th with the 1987 cyber punk action film RoboCop, followed by the classic 1980 space opera Flash Gordon.

Season 0.1 also celebrates some of the great film making visionaries of modern times, including John Carpenter with his 1981 classic, Escape from New York, Francis Ford Coppola with the film that consistently makes it into the top ten best movies of all time lists, The God Father Part II, Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands and David Fincher’ Fight Club
